MrBeast side kick Chris Tyson was accused of abandoning his two-year-old son after he started hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and has since hit back at critics.
Tyson, 26, who says he uses no pronouns, revealed in early April that he started his “life-saving” HRT two months ago.
He has since faced anti-transgender comments and critics have questioned his fathering abilities, but his friend Mr. Best, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has publicly defended him.
After Youtuber SunnyV2 made a video titled “Why Chris is soon to be a nightmare for @MrBeast,” Donaldson posted on Twitter: “Yeah. This is ridiculous. Chris isn’t ‘my nightmare’, he’s my sweet friend and things are fine.
“All this transphobia is starting to bother me.”

The backlash began after Tyson (pictured with his son Tucker in May 2022) changed his Twitter profile picture from one of him and his two-year-old son, Tucker, to a sketch of himself with long hair. A Twitter user named Cody responded to the change, saying, “Chris had a completely healthy nuclear family which has been shown to give kids the best outcomes in life, and many studies back this up.” But Chris chose, keyword chosen, to sacrifice that to fulfill his own selfish fantasy of being a woman.

“But Chris chose, keyword chosen, to sacrifice that to fulfill his own selfish fantasy of being a woman.”
With his accusations, the man published pictures of Tyson, his family, his wife, Katie Tyson, and their son, Tucker.
The man added, “Chris loves his son, I have no doubts. But his selfishness and pervertedness were a top priority. He even shares pictures of his son in girls’ heels.”
‘But this is not grooming properly?’ He even pushes his selfish idol onto his son.
He went on to say that all the Youtuber’s money would not buy him happiness nor his son’s “understanding of why he lost his father and his second mother”.
The YouTuber also demanded to “accept” himself and “take his family back” after claiming that Tyson would “never be a woman”.
Tyson defended the image change and criticized being a father while living as a gender non-conforming person.
“I just don’t want more pictures of Tucker than I have to,” he reasoned, adding last week: “I’m not going to let people talk about how I ‘gave up my baby.’ is the only priority in my life.”
I have his love and support and that’s all I need. I’m doing this for him. If this confuses you, educate yourself. This makes you crazy leaves. basic.’
Despite facing a lot of criticism since revealing his HRT treatment, Tyson said he was “really happy” that his announcement helped people educate themselves about HRT and “how it can and has helped so many people.”
“HRT’s informed consent saved my life and the lives of many others,” the star, who has appeared in dozens of videos alongside YouTube’s biggest star MrBeast, tweeted on April 6. The hurdles that gender non-conforming people must jump through to access life-saving gender-affirming health care in a first-world country is outrageous to me.

The number of transgender people who undergo surgery and hormonal treatments to transition has increased sharply in recent years – particularly in the United States.
Tyson revealed he was going through HRT after a Twitter user shared side-by-side photos of him before and after treatment, while asking “bro happened.”
“HRT, it’s only been two months,” Tyson wrote in response, adding that he had been learning about his gender dysphoria for 21 years after discovering his sister’s dresses in her closet.
