Mr Universe bodybuilder Calum von Moger’s brother Edward is found dead after boomerang incident

The brother of Mr Universe bodybuilder Calum von Moger has been confirmed dead after he mysteriously disappeared, just months after going viral over a bizarre run-in with an elderly couple.

Edward von Moger, 28, was filmed in August yelling about covid vaccinations to a couple through his car window on the side of a Victorian road.

The confrontation video showed a shirtless von Moger hitting the couple’s driver-side window and rearview mirror with a boomerang before launching into an expletive-filled tirade about Covid-19 vaccines.

He was scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, when prosecutors dropped all charges.

Judge John Bentley revealed that von Moger had tragically died over the weekend.

Has died. He was a lovely chap…those charges are dropped. There is press interest in this because his brother is quite famous,” Bentley said.

Daily Mail Australia revealed on Friday that a desperate search had been underway to find von Moger after he went missing from his home in Geelong, 75km southwest of Melbourne.

The 28-year-old was last seen on Laura Avenue in Belmont around 8 a.m. Thursday.

A day later, his vehicle was found abandoned 36km away on Ellimatta Road in Anglesea, a small seaside town on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road.

His brother Calum made a desperate plea for help finding his brother in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“My little brother Eddie is missing,” she wrote.

He was last seen three days ago on Thursday, March 2 around 8 a.m.

“Please if anyone has seen or heard ANYTHING from him or has any information on his whereabouts please let me know and contact Geelong Police Station.”

A friend of von Moger’s revealed on social media that he had left a suicide note.

“So sad…full of life at only 28 years old,” the post read.

He was always a happy man. Eddie was planning his wedding to Harisa and was looking forward to it, mental health issues should always be taken care of, there should never be a stigma attached to it.

In the viral video, von Moger could be seen approaching the couple and yelling through their car window as they were parked on the side of a Victorian road.

He then began to bang on the driver’s side window and rear view mirror, stopping to look strangely at his reflection in the mirror.

“You broke my fucking boomerang,” he yelled as it snapped in half from the force of hitting the window.

In the viral video showing von Moger breaking his weapon prompted him to produce another boomerang and saw him become even more enraged.

Seconds later, he smashed the rear view mirror, ripped the glass out of its frame and smashed it through the window, yelling ‘you fucking piece of shit’.

With two more fist and open hand punches, he smashed the window, much to the shock of the couple inside, and began his anti-vaccination tirade.

‘Damn idiots, they got the vaccine and it didn’t bother them. They both got the damn shot and lost a life,” he seemed to yell.

“Leave me alone,” the man in the driver’s seat told him, as the attacker grabbed his shirt.

He then stormed out, disappearing behind nearby parked cars.

Von Moger’s brother, Calum, 31, is a three-time Mr Universe winner and played Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2018 film Bigger.

Edward von Moger was also a bodybuilder and appeared in a photo alongside Schwarzenegger.

Months earlier, in May, Calum made headlines when he was seriously injured after ‘jumping’ from the second floor of his home in Geelong, Victoria.

Police were called after reports that a man was experiencing a mental health episode, with Calum needing surgery on his spine and spending 11 days in Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital.

The incident made international news due to his fame as a bodybuilder and film career: in addition to playing Schwarzenegger, he also starred in Calum von Moger: Unbroken on Netflix and the bodybuilding documentary Generation Iron 2.

The spinal injury was just the latest in a series of misfortunes to befall Calum von Moger’s life.

In the past five years, the gym junkie, once known as Arnold Schwarzenegger 2.0, suffered a knee and biceps injury that left him disabled for a year, found out he was the father of a boy named Kairos and his home in California caught fire. .

Shortly after being released from the hospital, he pleaded guilty to possessing a variety of drugs, including testosterone, cannabis and about two grams of methamphetamine, the lethal drug ice.

Those who follow Calum closely online say he hasn’t been the same since his bull terrier, Rex, choked to death on a chip in 2021.

Calum returned to Australia from Los Angeles in October 2021.
