Baffling moment when a car is driven on its rims on a busy road after its tires explode
- A motorist was filmed riding on the rims of his car
- The drive side tires had burst on the Gold Coast
- It was filmed as he trudged down a road in Coomera
A motorist has been captured on camera continuing to drive his vehicle on a busy road after the car’s tires burst.
The leaning LDV T60 Max was filmed last weekend from a trailing vehicle as it rolled on its rims down a main road in Coomera on the Gold Coast.
The vision showed the driver sailing along with two of the tires on the driver’s side broken as the shredded rubber fluttered around.
Bystanders said the gray vehicle swerved onto the road, endangering surrounding cars.
Footage of the bizarre driving behavior was uploaded to social media on Tuesday, with some commentators justifying the driver’s actions.

“Maybe they hit one of the many potholes,” one wondered.
“I don’t think he can change them both and maybe he’s dealing with current financial issues and can’t afford a tow truck,” another suggested.
“I am proposing mandatory roadworthiness testing at every car registration renewal, as they do in NSW…it will keep the faulty cars off the road,” one Queensland resident wrote.
“Rising food prices, higher housing prices, council taxes – it’s a wonder we don’t do all of this,” said another.
But others chose to see the lighter side of the faulty vehicle.
“Who knew, time for a wheel balance,” one sarcastic commenter wrote.
“Some more tread on the tyres,” said another, while another called the driver’s eagerness to get from A to B “perseverance.”
