Shocking footage captured the moment a motorcyclist landed on top of a car after crashing into the back of it on a busy motorway.
The collision occurred on a stretch of the M5 motorway in southern Sydney at 6.40pm on 8 October.
Dashboard camera footage from another car showed the motorcyclist traveling in the far right lane of the four-lane highway.
The motorcyclist narrowly avoided hitting a gray vehicle that was trying to merge into his lane.
The motorcyclist then crashed into the rear of a black Holden Commodore before overturning and landing on top of the vehicle.
The accident paralyzed traffic and motorists moved out of the way to avoid hitting the motorcycle as parts went flying.
The driver of the Holden stopped with the motorcyclist still on top of the car before the motorcyclist managed to get off.
The driver fell to the ground and appeared injured when the driver of the Holden got out to see if he was okay.
Dashcam footage captured the moment the motorcyclist crashed into the rear of a black Holden Commodore (pictured right) on the M5 motorway last month.
Another motorcyclist and several drivers also stopped to help the motorcyclist.
The video was later uploaded to Facebook and has been viewed thousands of times by social media users.
The latest incident comes several months after an SUV rolled down the highway after another motorist collided with the vehicle while attempting to pass it.
Another car’s dash cam showed a silver Holden Commodore sliding into the left lane after passing between two cars.
The rear of the Holden struck the front of the SUV as the driver attempted to get up.
The impact forced the SUV to spin down the highway several times.
The motorcyclist then rolled over and landed on top of the Holden (pictured right) as traffic stopped following the high-speed crash.
The driver of the Holden lost control of the vehicle before the car hit the barrier and traffic came to a stop.
