The grieving family of a woman who mysteriously died while on vacation in Mexico is suing the six “friends” she traveled with.

Shanquella Robinson, 25, traveled from Charlotte to San Jose Cabo on October 28, 2022 and rented a villa to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

The next day, she was found unconscious inside the villa and pronounced dead. A disturbing video later emerged of Robinson naked and being beaten by another person in the group.

His mother, Sallamondra Robinson, was told by his friends that he had died of alcohol poisoning, but an initial autopsy later revealed that his spine was severed and his neck was broken.

Charges have never been filed.

On Monday, his family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in North Carolina against the ‘Corporal Six’ who accompanied Robinson on the fateful trip.

Those people were named in the lawsuit as Daejhanae Jackson, Alysse Hyatt, Malik Dyer, Wenter Donovan, Khalil Cooke and Nazeer Tyree Wiggins.

Daejhanae, 28, was previously identified as the person in the distressing video beating Robinson.

Mexican authorities issued an arrest warrant for Daejhanae, but no moves have been made to extradite the U.S. citizen. The order was initially issued for feminicide, that is, the intentional murder of a woman.

‘We need justice for Shanquella Robinson. “It’s been two years and there’s no reason they haven’t been arrested yet,” his mother said.

According to the lawsuit, Sallamondra Robinson “suffered damages in excess of $25,000 as a result of the wrongful death.”

The lawsuit also accuses the FBI and the state of negligence, alleging that the death was not thoroughly investigated and that the FBI withheld records the family sought through a freedom of information request.

‘Some of these people should have been in jail by now. A long time ago. You have a video. “If it had been someone else’s son, they would have locked him up,” Robinson said at a news conference this week.

‘I know the FBI should have done something. I know a lot of things that were on the phones that I gave to the FBI and they looked at it like it was nothing.

“They just pushed my daughter under the rug… you had a video of her being brutally beaten.”

Robinson said she feels “fed up” and “needs justice” to move past the tragedy.

‘She didn’t deserve to die like that. You are going to take her out of the country to do that damage to her,’ he said.

‘We were very close, her 25 years on this earth, she just loved people. If I could do anything to help them, I would.

A lawyer representing the Robinsons, Sue-Ann Robinson, said the family filed a freedom of information request with the FBI and “their response was we can get back to you in five years.”

“Which would obviously be an even more significant delay, an even more significant erosion of the evidence in the case, of the memories of the witnesses,” he said.

In the disturbing 20-second footage that went viral after Robinson’s death, Daejhanae brutally beats a naked Robinson multiple times.

Robinson does not defend himself and falls to the ground. In the background a male voice is heard saying: “Quella, can you at least defend yourself?”

The 25-year-old tries to get away from her attacker and responds “no,” before the woman throws her to the floor next to the bed. The woman then punches her and knees her in the head before yelling at Robinson: “Get up, I’m tired of this shit.”
