- Man and woman shot to death
- They find bodies from alleged murder-suicide
A man is believed to have shot dead his aunt in front of his mother before turning the gun on himself in a suspected murder-suicide.
Martin Fowler, 46, was found dead inside a house on Jambaroo Street in Albany Creek, north of Brisbane, at 5.30pm on Sunday.
His aunt, 77, was also found dead on the property.
Brisbane Regional Crime Coordinator Acting Detective Superintendent Craig Williams revealed on Monday that police had attended the home on several occasions in the days leading up to the tragedy.
He said Fowler shot his aunt “several times” with a gun registered in his name.
The family is understood to have lived in the house for more than 20 years.
“There was an altercation, that was our initial information,” Superintendent Williams said.

‘So far, the investigation has revealed that the man was the son of the unharmed woman who was in the house.
“At this stage of the investigation, it appears that the man, who had a registered firearms license, used a handgun that was registered to him to fire several shots that killed the 77-year-old woman.
“He then used the firearm on himself and died at the scene.”
Fowler’s 88-year-old mother was treated at the scene for emotional distress and is now assisting police with their investigation.
“This is a tragic incident and we are assisting the family as best we can,” Superintendent Williams said.
“Police had been to the scene several times and had dealings with both parties in the previous week.”

Superintendent Williams did not want to know whether Fowler’s gun should have been confiscated after police were called to the home earlier in the week.
Previously, Queensland Police assured the public there was no ongoing threat to the community.
The house appeared to have been boarded up and covered with what appeared to be aluminum foil.
One neighbor said there was “always someone out front” and he often heard verbal altercations.
“You’re always yelling at each other,” he said.
‘There is always garbage everywhere. The air conditioning is always on and the windows were covered in sheets.’
Investigators are still asking anyone with information to come forward.
