A mother who starved her baby to death after her “controlling” boyfriend demanded their newborn live on sunlight rather than food has been found guilty of negligence.
Oxana Mironova, 33, allegedly followed the opinions of her partner, Maxim Lyutyi, 43, a raw food blogger. He faces a separate trial, accused of torturing his newborn baby.
The child, Kosmos, died of “pneumonia and emaciation” after the couple failed to feed him properly, the court heard.
Mironova admitted her guilt and repented for the death of her son aged less than a month, a spokesman for the court in Armavir, Russia, said.
She was sentenced to two years of “correctional labor” after being found guilty of child neglect and neglect of maternal duties, which led to Kosmos starving to death.
