A mother who sold her 15-year-old daughter to a pedophile to sexually abuse her has been jailed along with the predator she gave her to.

The woman, who cannot be named to preserve the girl’s anonymity, regularly sold the girl to Ferdous Ahmad between November 2023 and March 2024.

Police began investigating in March when they received a tip that Ahmad was communicating sexually with the teenager.

Officers were then able to identify the mother, who was selling her daughter Ahmad for him to repeatedly sexually abuse her.

Ahmad, 38, of Queensbridge Road, Brixton, and the woman, of Tower Hamlets, were found guilty after a two-week trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 30.

The woman was convicted of two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

They were sentenced yesterday in the same court. Ahmad was sentenced to 12 years in prison and made a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a Restraining Order.

The woman was sentenced to five years in prison.

Police are concerned that Ahmad may have sexually abused other young children and are asking victims and witnesses to come forward.

Detective Matthew Cranston, of the Central East Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “This has been a truly harrowing experience for the child and I am pleased that both people involved have received appropriate prison sentences.”

‘We remain seriously concerned about the predatory nature of Ahmad’s conduct in this case.
