A Tennessee mother felt she got a piece from her deceased son when she was reunited with a beloved stuffed Elmo toy that he lost ten years ago.
The son of Candy Scarbrough, Tucker, was only three years old when he died due to heart defects in 2008, but in his short life the cute little boy loved his stuffed Elmo, which he loved his & # 39; Melmo & # 39; called.
When Tucker lost Melmo in a shopping mall photo shoot in 2007, he was deeply sad – so Candy was shocked when she was reunited with the toy this summer, more than ten years later.
Candy Scarbrough & # 39; s son Tucker loved his cuddle Elmo toy before he died at the age of three due to complications of heart defects he had had since birth
Cuddly: It was & # 39; devastating & # 39; when Tucker lost Elmo in a photo shoot in a mall in 2007, but his mother was recently reunited with the toy
& # 39; He was a child of & # 39; Elmo & # 39; s World & # 39 ;, & # 39; Candy said Good morning America. & # 39; He had an Elmo chair in his room and he carried Elmo wherever he went. & # 39;
In 2007 Candy took him to the mall to have professional photos taken – and Melmo was left behind in one way or another.
& # 39; It was devastating, & # 39; said Candy.
A year later, Tucker, who had undergone several operations in his life, suffered a stroke and died at the age of three.
Flash ahead to this year, when Candy posted an old photo of Tucker on Facebook. A photographer named Megan Flanagan noted that she had worked in the photo studio of Knoxville, Tennessee, where the photo was taken so many years ago.
In addition, Megan said she had actually found the Elmo that Tucker had lost, and had used it for a photo prop for other kids – and she still had it.
Remember: When she posted this image on Facebook this summer, a photographer who worked in the studio where it was recorded saw the post and contacted her
Moving: the photographer still had the Elmo toy all those years later and gave it back to Candy, who said it was almost like he received a message from him & # 39;
So on September 19, the day before Tucker would turn 14, Candy reunited with the Elmo toy.
& # 39; I suppose it surprised me, after all those years after losing him, to poke some things and some things feel like a wink from the Lord.
& # 39; I smiled, this was happy. And I had a good cry on the way home, & said Candy.
& # 39; If you lose your child, you can only hope that something good will come out of it. Knowing that his Elmo has made so many children smile over the years helps.
& # 39; Elmo after all those years of recovering was somehow the same as getting a piece of Tucker back. It was almost as if I received a message from him, reminded me of his life, and removed part of the gravity from death. & # 39;
