The victim of a convicted rapist who is on the run with his aristocratic partner and their baby today told how he threatened to kill his sleeping children during a four-hour attack in 1989.

The mother-of-two was held captive during the robbery with a pair of pruning shears and a kitchen knife.

And now he has urged police to track down Mark Gordon, 48, and his partner, Constance Marten, 35, who fled two weeks ago with their secret day-old baby.

But their car burst into flames on the M61 near Bolton on January 5 and they have since traveled to Liverpool and then Harwich in Essex, Colchester and east London. The baby has not received any medical attention, it is understood.

Gordon, from Birmingham, was 14 at the time of the attack and 16 when he was jailed for 40 years for breaking into his next-door neighbor’s Florida home, where he lived with his family.

Brandishing a hedge trimmer and a knife, he burst through a bathroom window and lunged at the 30-year-old woman, threatening to kill her two children who were sleeping in the next room.

The victim, now 64, told the Mail anonymously: “I came out of my room and he told me not to scream or he would kill my children.”

It was more than four hours.

“He had been watching me for months from different places and he had it very well planned.”

Over the next four and a half hours, Gordon forced her to perform a series of sexual acts while wearing a nylon stocking to conceal her identity.

She said: ‘I’ve had post-traumatic stress disorder all my life.

“After this happened, it was like my life stopped. I lost everything.

‘I lost my house because I couldn’t do anything or sell it. She wasn’t even there emotionally.

It couldn’t work. She couldn’t think.

Gordon fled the scene after the attack on April 29, 1989, but within weeks he attacked again, breaking into the home of a second neighbor.

She recalled: ‘There was another neighbor of ours and three weeks after he had been in our house, he went to his house and entered.

‘This time I hoped the man was gone and it wasn’t him who saved the woman’s life.

“He (had) taken a knife and put a knife on every bedroom door.”

The owner of the second raid, Patrick Nash, recounted today how he woke up to find Gordon standing in his bedroom armed with a shovel around 7 a.m. on May 21, 1989.

He said: ‘I wasn’t supposed to be home in the morning when this happened, I was supposed to leave before dawn.

‘My wife wakes up and screams. She starts to pick me up and they hit me over the head with a shovel. Miraculously I was able to get him out of the house. It was just a reflection. I always sleep in the position closest to the door.

“He took cutlery and placed it around the house to have access to the weapons. My son was a baby at the time and he was in the room next to ours.

Gordon struck Mr Nash over the head with the heavy shovel leaving him with serious head injuries before fleeing the scene.

US police finally caught up with him a month later, on June 13, 1989, when he confessed to both break-ins and was jailed for 40 years.

In 2010, having served half his sentence, he was deported to the UK and placed on the sex offender register.

Gordon then entered into a relationship with Miss Marten, who cut all ties to her friends and her aristocratic family, who are tied to royalty.

It comes as Miss Marten’s father, Napier, a former page to the late queen, said he and his family were “deeply concerned” for the well-being of his “dear” daughter and urged her to come home.
