Mother of accused teen killer filmed hours after he killed cheerleader washing the blood off his jeans
Bailey was Fucci’s classmate at Patriot Oaks Academy in St Johns, Florida, where she was a cheerleader
The mother of a 14-year-old boy accused of brutally murdering his 13-year-old cheerleader classmate was filmed hours after the murder washing blood from her son’s jeans, investigators say.
New footage would show Crystal Smith scrubbing her son Aiden Fucci’s jeans hours after Fucci allegedly killed Trystyn Bailey by stabbing her 114 times.
The clip was one of several video footage released Tuesday by the Florida State Attorney’s Office in the Bailey murder trial, where Fucci, 14, has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder.
The cache of recordings also contained three Snapchat videos showing Fucci and a friend laughing in the back of a police car while Bailey, 13, goes missing, and the last moments when Bailey was seen alive.
“We’re having fun in that cop car,” a smiling Fucci says into the camera. He then addresses Bailey directly and says, “Tristyn if you fucking walk away…” His friend adds that Tristyn “would see this in a month.”
Prosecutors say Fucci made the comments despite knowing full well that Bailey was already dead — because he killed her.
In another Snapchat clip, Fucci sits alone in the backseat of the patrol vehicle. He says, “Guess who’s in that cop car… tripping, dude.”
Bailey’s body was found on May 9, 2021 with 114 stab wounds – 35 wounds to her head and neck, along with 49 defensive wounds to her arms – in the woods near Fucci’s home in St Johns, Florida.

Snapchat videos showed Fucci sitting in the back of a patrol car while officers searched for Bailey. In one shot, Fucci says, “Tristyn if you fucking walk away…”
Police obtained surveillance footage from inside Fucci’s home, allegedly showing Smith going upstairs and picking up her son’s jeans, before allegedly scrubbing the blood off them.
Those jeans, as well as the drain at Smith’s house, later tested positive for blood and she was charged with tampering with evidence. It’s unclear if that blood matched Bailey’s.
That was one of the videos Florida prosecutors released Tuesday was surveillance footage from May 9, 2020; the last time Bailey was seen alive.
Smith has been charged with tampering with evidence, a felony, in connection with Bailey’s murder
In the video, Fucci reportedly walks with Bailey the night of her murder to a wooded area near their St Johns neighborhood after midnight on the night of the murder.
Less than two hours later — just before 2 a.m. — the same security camera caught what allegedly ran Fucci in the opposite direction, prosecutors said.
According to court documents released last month, one of Fucci’s friends and classmate at the Patriot Oaks Academy, where Bailey also attended, told police that Fucci often talked about killing people.
The friend said that within a month of Bailey’s murder, Fucci said he wanted to kill someone by dragging them into the woods and stabbing them.
She also said that Fucci would “take his knife and pretend to stab her with it” and that he would “make graphics of mutilated bodies.”
The friend also told detectives that Fucci often heard voices when he was angry that would tell him to kill people, the report said.
Fucci has been charged with first degree murder as an adult. He is accused of stabbing his classmate Bailey 114 times
Florida prosecutors released video evidence Tuesday in the murder trial of Aiden Fucci, 14, who is believed to be walking above with victim Tristyn Bailey.
A neighbor’s camera captured what police said was the last time Bailey was seen alive on the morning of May 9 walking with Fucci to a wooded area in St Johns, Florida.
Less than two hours later, a person was reportedly seen running alone in the opposite direction
When detectives searched Fucci’s home, they discovered a notebook filled with “violent” drawings of women, including one depicting a woman with red X’s on her breasts and severed arms with blood flowing from them.
The case documents also included an incident report about his mother telling him in a police interrogation room that Bailey’s body had been found.
According to the report, Fucci replied, “How is that my problem?”
When police searched Fucci’s home, they reportedly found Buck’s knife scabbard in his room, as well as shoes and a shirt with blood on it.
A knife found discarded in a pond near where Bailey’s body was found matched her stab wounds, according to police.
Fucci was initially arrested on charges of second-degree murder and held in a youth center the day after Bailey’s body was found.
Authorities said his DNA was found on Bailey’s body.
Prosecutors later upgraded the charge to first-degree murder.
Fucci pleaded not guilty to murder and is still incarcerated without bail. Smith was released after posting $25,000 bail. Both mother and son are due to appear in court again on September 1 for hearings pending trial.
