The mother of a British man who went missing while volunteering on a farm in Sardinia has made a desperate appeal for his safe return.

Organiser Evie Baker wrote: ‘On Saturday 13 July Michael went missing in Sardinia. He was due to start volunteering but was unwell, unused to the hot weather and possibly dehydrated. He was given water and went to sleep.

‘When he woke up he said he was going for a walk and now he is unfortunately missing.

“I can’t tell you how lovely this family is. I’m absolutely heartbroken for them.”
