Mother killed, baby badly injured when car collides with pram
A mother has died and her baby has continued to fight for his life after being hit by a car.
The woman, probably in her twenties, was with her son, who was eight months old, in a pram when she was hit by the vehicle in Penge, South London.
The Metropolitan Police said it was on the scene on Sunday evening at 8.08 am on Croydon Road.
"A car appeared to have been involved in a collision with a mother and a baby in a pram," said the Force.
"Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, the mother, probably in her twenties, was declared dead on stage.
"The baby, probably eight months old, has been taken to the hospital and his injuries have been assessed as life-threatening. & # 39;

The driver of the car stopped on the spot and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He was not arrested and would help the police with their questions.
Road closures have been set while researchers examine the scene.
Witnesses or someone with some information was asked to call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
