A woman is convicted of murder after leaving her three-year-old daughter in an SUV for more than nine hours on a hot summer day in California.
Angela Phakhin, 29, was found guilty on Wednesday in Sacramento of first-degree murder and torture of a crime after a one-month trial.
The authorities say that Phakhin and her fiancé, 48-year-old Untwan Smith, repeatedly left her daughter Maiya in the vehicle in the summer of 2017 because they & # 39; lusty demons & # 39; of the girl wanted to remove.

The police in Rancho Cordova, California, found the toddler buried under a pile of blankets in the back of the white SUV of Phakhin (top right) on a burning summer day in June 2017
The girl spent more than four hours there on 27 June 2017. The next day she was found dead under a pile of blankets after a stretch of nine and a half hours.
Attorneys of the Sacramento attorneys say Phakhin told authorities that she and Smith, who were not the biological father of Maiya, tried & lusty demons & # 39; of the girl.
Phakhin & # 39; s fiancé, Untwan Smith, 48, has a trial pending on the same allegations of murder and torture
Prosecutors say that Phakhin has been repeatedly warned and advised to take the girl to a cold store, but she refused.
Phakhin, her daughter and Smith moved from Arkansas to California in 2016, it said Sacramento Bee.
On June 28, 2017, police in Rancho Cordova found that the white Toyota RAV4-SUV of the family was parked on the wrong side of Rod Beaudry Drive and started investigating.
Both Phakhin and her fiancé were standing near the vehicle.
When officers opened the SUV, they saw that Maiya no longer responded under a pile of blankets in the back seat. She was declared dead on the spot.
National weather forecast data shows that the temperatures in the Sacramento area have risen to about 89 degrees that day.
Phakhin is 25 years in jail if she is convicted on July 19.
Smith & # 39; s trial is pending on the same allegations of murder and torture.
