A mother was found dead while her two children were injured after a pack of dogs brutally attacked them, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
On Thursday, the pack of dogs allegedly attacked the children while they waited at a bus stop behind Brooks County High School. They were taken to hospital after the alleged attacks.
Courtney Williams, a 35-year-old mother of two, was found dead in the yard of a nearby residence, which the GBI is currently investigating.
A GBI statement said: “When officers arrived, they encountered several aggressive dogs on the property.
‘It was determined that the minors had already been transported to a local hospital by a private citizen.

Kayden, one of their children involved, jumped in front of his sister to defend himself from the dogs and was injured as a result.
The pack of dogs reportedly attacked the children while they were waiting at a bus stop behind Brooks County High School.
“Officers subsequently located the body of Courtney Williams, a 35-year-old white female, in the yard of the residence.”
The dog’s breed is still unclear.
A neighbor, who remained anonymous, said WALB that his heart goes out to the family since the mother’s death occurred a few days before Mother’s Day.
“I feel sorry for the family and for the children because now they will have to celebrate Mother’s Day without their mother,” she said.
Neighborhood residents have expressed concern about the lack of animal control in their area.
‘People dump dogs all over the county and no one can get help with them because there is no animal control in the county. Praying for this woman’s family. This is very sad,’ said one resident.
The case is currently under investigation by the GBI, which is in the process of performing an autopsy on Williams to determine the official cause of death.
While the attack was happening, Nathan ran to the school to try to get help, but turned back thinking he wouldn’t have time to help his other siblings.

Williams’ sister-in-law, Crystal Cox, posted a heartfelt tribute to her brother’s wife on Facebook. mail.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to say this,” the post began. ‘My brother’s wife, Courtney Williams Cox, passed away yesterday. The neighbors’ dogs attacked her and her children.
‘His son, Kayden, did not escape fast enough while pushing his sister out of harm’s way. He was pretty hurt (but) he’s fine.
They stapled it. (He is) suffering and in my house resting. We ask that if he is not an immediate family member, you limit calls and messages.”
In a Facebook follow-up mail On Friday, Cox updated the community on the children’s health and exactly how events unfolded. She mentioned that three children were involved.
According to the post, Kayden’s sister, whom she called ‘sissy,’ and her brother Nathan are shocked, but are processing the traumatic event that followed.
Williams’ sister-in-law, Crystal Cox, posted a heartfelt tribute to her brother’s wife in a Facebook post while updating the public on Kayden’s health.
Kayden is currently resting at the Cox home and is on the road to recovery.

The man helped fight off the dogs and managed to get the children into his truck and took them to the hospital.
