Brandon Aiyuk

The girlfriend of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk suggested he is leaving Levi’s Stadium after their Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 49ers fell short in their bid to win their first Super Bowl in nearly 30 years on Sunday, with the Chiefs pulling out a dramatic 25-22 victory in the final three seconds of overtime.

After such a devastating fall at the final hurdle, San Francisco now has a big challenge on its hands: regroup and continue into the 2024 season.

And according to Aiyuk’s girlfriend, Rochelle Searight, they may have to do it without their star receiver.

The day after their loss to Kansas City in Las Vegas, Searight, who has dated Aiyuk since their college days, took to TikTok to drop a major hint that they are ready to leave San Francisco.

“This might be the last day we play Levi’s Stadium, Brandon and I,” he said. “Because we might not be here next season.”

Aiyuk will not be a free agent this offseason after the Niners exercised the 25-year-old’s fifth-year option last April, meaning he would have to be traded in order to leave Levi’s Stadium.

If he stays, Aiyuk would be in line to receive an annual salary of $14 million.

The California-born star dropped a cryptic message on her Instagram account following Sunday’s Super Bowl heartbreak, writing on Instagram, “Don’t forget what got you there” alongside eyeball emojis.

Aiyuk has enjoyed four seasons with the Niners after being selected as a first-round pick in 2020.

He has proven to be a key member of their offense since then, recording 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns in four seasons, including a career-high 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023.

However, one of the receiver’s best friends has suggested that his apparent desire to leave San Francisco is based on his lack of service in the Super Bowl, where he only had three receptions that night.

“This is the exact reason we are leaving San Francisco,” Draysean Hudson wrote about his close friend Aiyuk on Instagram. “Thank you 49ers for recruiting my brother, we will be forever grateful.”

He then hinted at where Aiyuk might end up next season by saying, “BA to Las Vegas.”

Hudson also wrote: ‘Why does your 1300 yard All Pro receiver have 3 catches in the Super Bowl?’

Aiyuk has seven months to weigh his future and force any potential moves in the offseason, which Searight said will be a stressful period for both after the Super Bowl loss.

She said in another post on TikTok: ‘Guess what our job is now?’ The low season is here, we are waiting for you hand and foot.

“I just lost in the Super Bowl, we’re going to have to deal with mood swings, a lot of anger may be taken out on us.” But don’t take it personally, you can’t take it personally.
