More than 40 percent of American adults have now had at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, the White House Covid response team announced Monday.
Nearly one in four adults is now fully vaccinated, as are 55 percent of seniors in the US, response team member Andy Slavitt revealed at a news conference.
The US now gives an average of more than three million injections a day, and more than four million doses were given on Saturday – a record number of vaccinations.
At this rate, the US is on track to achieve herd immunity, with 75 percent of the population vaccinated by July, according to Bloomberg.
