More than 100 projects in limbo after major Australian construction company collapses

More than 100 families were left with unfinished homes after a major construction company collapsed.

Grandeur Homes Pty Ltd fell into administration on Friday.

The Victoria-based construction company had 110 ongoing projects at the time of its insolvency, news.com.au reported.

Grandeur Homes has been in business since 2015, but the last reviews posted on their website were from 2021.

One client left in limbo is Abhishek Marpally, who paid around $340,000 for a house, construction of which began in June last year.

He said his house should have been ready in September.

He and his wife now struggle to keep up with mortgage payments, already-low property taxes, and gas and electric bills.

“The excitement of having a new home has not left me. I am working full time and driving an Uber to be able to pay the living expenses,” he told the publication.
