Harrowing footage captured the moment a 12-year-old boy was allegedly dragged from his home by a masked man minutes after his brother was kidnapped.
CCTV footage was captured at a house on Padbury Street in Mora, in Western Australia’s Whitpelt region, at around 4am on Friday.
In the picture, a masked man wearing a wig walks through a gate, enters the house, and then exits with 12-year-old Fabiano, who is barefoot.
Harrowing footage captured the moment a 12-year-old boy was dragged from his home by a masked man minutes after his brother was allegedly kidnapped.
The man – alleged to be 34-year-old Jonathan Richard Anthony – was seen putting an arm around the boy.
But when the man tries to pick him up, Fabiano pushes him away and he runs into the house where he tells Brayden Pitkeathley – a family friend who lives on the property – what just happened.
‘He (Fabiano) was afraid and trembling,’ said Mr. Pitkuthly. Western Australia.
The couple then realized that Fabiano’s eight-year-old brother was missing, having been kidnapped moments earlier.
‘I ran forward and down the street (but) I couldn’t see anyone,’ said Mr. Pitkuthly.
I jumped in the car and searched all over town until the police got to the house.
The police frantically joined the search to find the eight-year-old boy.
James had been missing for about three hours when Mr. Pitkeathley and Fabiano heard his cry, “I am here.”
The police found the boy in a nearby house and arrested Anthony.
Western Australian State Police Inspector Karini Santoro said Fabiano’s actions led to a speedy resolution of the “extremely distressing incident”.
“His courage and courage in removing himself from this situation was phenomenal, and it was a really good deed to go and immediately alert an adult of what happened,” Inspector Santoro said.

The two children were taken to the hospital for a routine check-up.

He said, “I went straight to the police station…and said, ‘Dad is here, no one can harm you now’.”
He was at work in Perth, two hours away, when the boys were transferred.
Mr. Ozzi said of Fabiano: “I look at my son and how the man fought.” “I am so proud… of what he did.”
WA Police arrested Anthony and charged him with two counts of detaining a child under the age of 16, two counts of aggravated robbery, deprivation of liberty, concealment of an offense and criminal damage.
Anthony faced Northbridge Magistrates Court on Saturday.
He did not apply for bail at the hearing and did not speak or indicate that he understood when the charges against him were read.
Anthony was placed in pre-trial detention until his next court date in May.
