Monterey crash: Explosive discovery inside mangled Subaru wreck where two little boys died could reveal what really happened – as their uncle and three others face charges over the crash death
A young boy killed alongside his brother in the back of a car driven by their uncle filmed the vehicle allegedly racing down the street moments before the fatal crash.
Jimmy Martin Brito, 33, allegedly lost control and crashed his Subaru WRX while speeding on The Grand Parade in Monterey, in Sydney’s south, on August 25.
His nephews Peter, nine, and Xavier Abreu, 10, died instantly, while a nine-year-old girl sitting in the front seat escaped with minor injuries and Brito was hospitalized.
It now appears that harrowing footage found on a mobile phone inside the wreck helped police track down the suspected driver of another vehicle believed to have been involved in the street racing.
That driver, Adam Yurun, 24, and his passenger Raquel Borg, 24, were both arrested and charged last week for their alleged roles in the fatal crash, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Police say Yurun and Borg witnessed the crash but fled the scene and did not speak to police until after their arrest a month later.
A police statement of facts revealed that the alleged street race began shortly after 9:30 p.m. when Brito and Yurun met at “The Loop” in La Pérouse.
CCTV footage along the 19km journey from the start of the alleged race to the crash site reportedly shows Brito’s Subaru and Yurun’s Audi overtaking each other at speeds of up to 130km/h. h.
“Video filmed inside the Subaru shows… As both vehicles exit the Sydney Airport tunnel… children inside the Subaru can be heard saying to the driver, Jimmy Martin Brito, in which lane to drive”, depending on the facts.
He adds: “The Subaru outperforms the Audi. The distinct sound of the Subaru revving its engine can be heard.
“The Audi continues in the first lane, overtaking the Subaru…the Subaru immediately accelerates to a point where the front of the vehicles becomes level.”
But police say that as he attempted to make a right turn, Brito climbed a curb and crashed into a tree, instantly killing his two nephews.

Footage allegedly filmed by one of the brothers helped police track down the driver of another vehicle participating in the alleged street race. Adam Yurun (pictured), 24, and his passenger Raquel Borg, 24, were both arrested and charged last week for their alleged role in the fatal crash.

Police prosecutors told the court that experts estimated the vehicle was traveling at least 136km/h at the time of the crash.
Brito, who was charged with five offenses relating to the incident, was refused bail when he appeared via video link at Sutherland Local Court on September 7.
Yurun was reportedly charged with two counts of aggravated dangerous driving causing death, organizing, promoting a race between vehicles and two counts of failing to stop and assist after an impact causing caused death. he will appear in court again on November 30.
Borg, his passenger, was charged with concealing a serious criminal act. She will appear in court on October 17.
