A mum was left horrified after seeing Kmart’s newest ‘SpongeBob and Patrick’ toys.

The toys are part of the Fuggler range – soft toys deliberately created as “ugly” and have been a hit with children despite their terrifying appearance.

The mother, like many other people, was unaware of the scope and was disgusted by the “tall” appearance of children’s television characters when she saw them.

He posted a photo of the retailer’s ad featuring the toys along with the caption, “What the heck is this?”

“SpongeBob and Patrick had a special crab burger,” one mom joked on the woman’s post.

Others quickly added an explanation for the “creepy” toys.

“Fugglers, they’re super cute when you look at them properly,” one woman said.

‘The fart one is the best, my son loves his,’ said another.

But creepy toys are a hard “no” for everyone else.

“I work at a daycare and I absolutely hate these things,” said another.

“These are disgusting. Why do they have human faces?” another woman asked.

A third said her child would probably love them, but she’s not convinced about having one at home.

The special edition Fugglers are $15 at Kmart.
