She can’t find him at first, so jumps out of the pool and runs around the perimeter trying to keep an eye on the trapped dog.
Eventually she sees him and immediately jumps back into the pool and breaks more ice before she can reach Sid and lift him out of the water.
Mrs. Tatum and her husband Mike then drove with Sid to the animal hospital where the vet told them that Sid, trapped under the ice for more than a minute, would have died had he been in the pool for a few more seconds.

Ms. Tatum told Fox News that the couple’s pool pump broke down a week before winter storms hit, and if it had worked, the water wouldn’t have frozen.
Mr Tatum uploaded the video to Facebook next to the caption, ‘We almost lost our’ little ‘Sid on Thursday morning. If Jennie didn’t react so quickly, he wouldn’t be here.
‘I was working, but the whole incident was registered. He sat under the ice in the water for a little over a minute. It was horrible. Jennie is truly my amazing and so heroic !!
‘I’m so grateful they are okay. Sid is traumatized and doesn’t want to step foot in the backyard. He goes out alone. ‘
