A little girl’s bed had to be torn apart in the middle of the night after a python slid under it, causing panic in the house.

Shocking images of the carpet python reveal the snake’s terrifying size after a professional snake catcher was called in to capture it.

The uninvited guest snuck into the girls’ room in the early hours of Thursday morning at the house in Buderim, 95 km north of Brisbane.

The video shows a professional snake catcher arriving in the early hours of Thursday to remove the animal.

First, the snake catcher uses a torch to locate the snake under the girl’s bathtub.

You can hear the family ask how big the snake is when the catcher announces that it is a big python.

“It’s not a bad carpet python,” he said.

The catcher then fights the snake through the planks of the girl’s bed before revealing the beast to the family.
