Moment Ukraine wipes out Russian forces with massive missile strike after Putin blitzed Odessa grain stores in retaliation for Moscow drone attacks

Date:

Dramatic footage appears to show the moment a devastating Ukrainian missile attack wipes out entire infantries of Russian soldiers on a beach far from the front lines.

The attack is said to have killed dozens, if not hundreds, of Russian soldiers gathered on the occupied island of Dzharylhach in the Kherson region.

Drone footage shows the infantry troops apparently training in separate groups, probably under the impression that they were too far from the front line to be attacked.

A huge explosion is then seen where the forces gathered, and Ukrainian media reports that around 200 Russian soldiers were killed in the attack, claims that could not be independently verified.

Ukrainian sources say that five attacks by the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) were carried out after receiving information from ‘underground’ local sources in the occupied territory. Russian sources accepted that their forces were attacked.

The attack came after Russian drones struck Izmail, a Ukrainian port city in the Odessa region along the border with Romania, causing significant damage and a large fire at key facilities for grain exports.

The attack killed dozens, if not hundreds of Russian soldiers gathered on the occupied island of Dzharylhach in the Kherson region, it is claimed.

Wednesday’s attack on Russian troops indicates that pro-kyiv informants are becoming a growing problem for Vladimir Putin’s control over the occupied regions of Ukraine.

Moscow’s pro-war channel Rybar said it was “a new vivid illustration of the fact that allowing large gatherings of people even in the rear, at a distance from the combat zone, can lead to bad consequences.”

The National Center of Resistance in Ukraine said: “Thanks to the information provided by the underground in the temporarily occupied territory, dozens of invaders and enemy equipment were destroyed.”

Media reports in Ukraine put the number of victims at around 200, according to the Kyiv Post.

The location of the beach is about 50 miles from the nearest Ukrainian territory.

The Institute for the Study of War, a think tank in Washington DC, wrote in a July 23 assessment that the Russian military had recently established training camps at Dzharylhach.

These were being used, he said, by “degraded units from various parts of the front to Kherson Oblast” for recovery and training.

The island is off the northwest coast of Putin-annexed Crimea, and drone footage shows its long beaches.

A post from Rybar said: ‘Soldiers are doing combat training but in one of the frames he hit staff training.

‘Some time later, the AFU struck there from MLRS HIMARS.

‘Most likely, the military on the island relaxed a bit because of the imaginary sense of security: the front line is 80 kilometers away, the terrain is inconspicuous, there are no tents in a clear field or warehouses. with ammunition.

But the enemy took advantage of such recklessness.

“Let’s face it: it won’t be possible to avoid absolutely every crowd of people in the rear, and it may not always be possible in principle.”

The outdoor troop muster was too obvious.

“Let this video be a memo to the Russian military with a clear reminder that even in the rear, necessary precautions are worth observing.”

kyiv struck back after Russian drones launched attacks on grain warehouses in Izmail, in the Odessa Oblast region.

These followed the end of a deal with Russia that had allowed Ukrainian shipments to world markets from the Black Sea port of Odessa.

Since scrapping the deal, Russia has hit the country’s ports with strikes, compounding the blow to key industry.

The base is said to be home to the Russian 37th Air Regiment. Ukraine has launched several attacks against it in recent weeks.

Over the past two weeks, dozens of drone and missile strikes have targeted the port of Odessa and the region’s river ports, which are being used as alternate routes.

In a separate incident, a missile attack is believed to have hit Hvardiiske, or Gvardeyskoye, in Crimea.

Russian sources claimed that there was little damage, but there was no independent confirmation.

There was speculation that a converted S-200 ballistic missile or the Grom-2 OTRK might have been used.

But it was also claimed that the attack was from Storm Shadow, a precision missile supplied to Ukraine by Britain and later by France.

The above images show fragments of a Storm Shadow shot down by Russian air defenses over Crimea, confirming its use against targets on the annexed peninsula.

This comes amid signs that the rail section of the £3bn Crimean bridge has been damaged, as has the road section.
