Two elderly women bravely intervened and stopped masked, hammer-wielding thugs attempting to steal an expensive motorbike in Leeds, despite the risks to their own safety.
The footage shows two masked bike thieves approaching on their own small white motorbike in front of a black superbike in a car park near Bennett Street in Leeds.
While one remains at the wheel, the other jumps and crouches to try to break the wheel lock that keeps the bike parked in place.
“Get the number,” the would-be fleeing driver is heard saying as the other attacker begins hitting the wheel lock with a hammer.
Incredibly, two older women spot them from behind some bushes and immediately begin trying to intervene. They can be heard shouting “hey”, “leave him alone” and “get down”.
The two would-be bike thieves pulled up next to the expensive superbike in a Leeds car park and began trying to break the wheel lock holding it in place.
One of the elderly passersby is seen bravely intervening and chasing away the attackers by approaching them, despite the risks to her own safety. The attackers managed to quickly escape.
One of the women is seen approaching the attackers as the bike alarm begins to sound and she is heard saying: “What the hell are you doing?”
The old woman was wearing a striped T-shirt and had grey hair.
Following the brave intervention of the elderly passers-by and failing to break the wheel lock, the attackers managed to make a quick escape.
The hammer-wielding attacker jumps after the driver, who quickly drives out of the parking lot.
One of the old women chases them and shouts: “Come back here now.”
