Previously, he had visited a Duchy of Cornwall housing project in Nansledan, Newquay, which aimed to give homeless people a home.
The scheme, in partnership with Cornish charity St Petrocs, will see 24 homes built on Duchy land for homeless people.
As well as having somewhere to live, the project will provide comprehensive support and is inspired by Homewards, a five-year program run by the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Royal Foundation to show that ending homelessness is possible.
Construction will begin in September and the first homes will be completed in autumn next year.
William, who is also Duke of Cornwall, a title inherited from his father after the death of the late queen, heads the Duchy of Cornwall, a portfolio of lands, properties and investments valued at more than £1 billion, providing income to the heir to the throne.

William’s trip to Cornwall was without his wife Kate, who is taking time off from public duties amid her cancer diagnosis.
But the Princess of Wales is “doing well”, William revealed on Friday, discussing his wife’s health during a visit to St Mary’s Community Hospital in the Isles of Scilly.
William continues with his royal duties while Kate receives treatment, following her “shock” announcement in March that she had been diagnosed and was undergoing chemotherapy.
William said George, Charlotte and Louis are “very jealous” of their trip, adding that he could bring them to Cornwall later this year, according to The Sun.
