Moment of joy for siblings when they learn their sister returns home from the hospital free of serious illness

An 11-year-old girl’s siblings have shared the incredible moment they found out she was free of stage four ovarian cancer in a heartwarming video.

“I’m coming home tonight,” Tirion told them over the phone, in a call from his hospital bed to his family home in Sutherland Shire, south of Sydney.

‘Has all the cancer gone?’ asked one of his brothers.

“Yes,” replied Tirion, which was received with loud applause from the brothers gathered around a mobile placed on a speaker table.

Her relief and ecstasy came after she battled the deadly disease for almost six months.

Tirion and her best friend Chloe previously made headlines when Chloe shaved her hair in solidarity and to raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

“The first thing I said to myself was, ‘I don’t think I’ll meet many friends like Chloe in my life,’ and I was so proud of her,” Tirion told 2GB’s Ben Fordham in early May.

“She means a lot to me, if there’s one thing I could tell her it’s on the bad days… (she) makes them feel so much better.”

He fundraising has already raised more than $200,000.

Speaking to Fordham again on Friday morning, Tirion said Chloe was “speechless” when she told him she was now cancer-free.

“I was very excited, very happy of course and quite relieved,” Tirion said of the surprising news.

Her mother, Virginia, said the oncologist said there were no signs of cancer activity anywhere in her daughter’s body.

“Officially, the cancer is completely clear,” he said.

Tirion has been left with a mild lung infection, but this is a fairly common side effect of chemotherapy in children.

When told he was cancer-free, Tirion beamed with “the biggest smile we’ve ever seen,” his mother said.
