A Vampires Diaries reunion between Nina Dobrev, Kat Graham and Candice King almost turned into a catastrophe.
The actresses spoke on a panel at Epic Con’s I Was Feeling Festive convention in Covington, Georgia.
Ironically, the trio were talking about the various injuries and accidents that occurred on the Vampire Diaries set when the backdrop began to collapse and almost fell on top of Nina, 35.
The newly engaged actress’ co-stars sprang into action and pulled Nina out of the backdrop before it fell on top of her.
What’s disturbing about the near-miss is that Kat and Candice’s characters on the long-running series always protected Nina’s character from accidents.
At first, Nina took off her long black coat, thinking there was a spider on her back. But as soon as he realized what was really happening, he quickly moved out of the way.

“Decades later and they’re still protecting Elena,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another added: ‘elena was saved by caroline and bonnie… just like old times.’
The near miss comes after Nina suffered a serious e-bike accident in May, in which she tore her anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus and fractured her shinbone and knee joint.
But not even the mishap at the convention could dampen the shine that Nina had during the event.
In addition to thriving professionally, she and her longtime boyfriend, Olympic snowboard champion Shaun White, 38, recently got engaged.
Earlier this month, Shaun shared a video of his sweet proposal to his longtime love on Instagram.
”Still floating after tonight! ‘I’m beside myself to be with this amazing woman and join her beautiful family!!’ he captioned images of the romantic moment.
The gushing note continued: “Our quarantine romance turned into this beautiful relationship and now a forever love.”
In the recording, White told Dobrev that he loves her while Cigarettes After Sex’s dreamy song, Apocalypse, played softly in the background.

Shaun wrote elsewhere in his caption: ‘Believe me when I say this app mainly shows us the best in us.
‘Behind the curtain, like in any relationship, we have had our struggles. But it is our ability to communicate and repair that keeps us moving forward together.”
He expressed: “I am so grateful for the life lessons, gratitude, adventure and love that Nina has taught me, and I only wish to show her the same in return.”
‘I guess we’re doing the dam thing, honey!’ he wrote excitedly.
