Former Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade was in the middle of an interview with CNN on Wednesday when he was suddenly interrupted by a “media consultant.”
In what was a strange moment, in the middle of a ‘live’ television interview, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins was questioning Wade about the timeline of his relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a Democrat .
Collins asked Wade when his romantic relationship with Willis had begun, but just as he was about to begin his answer, he was interrupted by his media advisor and told to remove his microphone.
Before being interrupted, Wade revealed that he still “talks regularly” to Willis and noted how the election interference case against former President Donald Trump “will still be alive” even though he has been removed from the case.
‘When did the romantic relationship between you two begin?’ Then Collins asked.

Willis had begun to answer a question when his consultant interrupted him and told him to remove his microphone.
The couple then huddled in a corner of the room to whisper to each other.
‘Yes, so we went into… there has been an effort to say that, okay, these exact dates are in question and these exact dates are…’
It was at that moment that Wade suddenly seemed distracted and looked off camera indicating that he was being “pointed here.”
The pair then huddled in a corner of the room for almost a minute as they whispered to each other about how best to answer the question.
The two could be seen reviewing a document, while Collins, bewildered, sat in the chair awaiting his return.
In the background, a CNN producer could be heard telling the cameraman to “keep filming.”
When Wade returned to his seat, Collins resumed his line of questioning and asked Wade if he was “okay.”
“Just to get back to the question, it was to clarify when the romantic relationship began and when it ended,” Collins told Wade once again.
“I do not choose to say or do anything that could jeopardize the case or the court’s ruling,” he said.
Collins stayed seated in her chair as Wade walked away in the middle of their interview.
When Wade returned, he seemed particularly embarrassed by what had just happened.

“I think the public, through testimony and other interviews, has a clear idea that this is clearly just a distraction,” Wade responded.
‘It is not a relevant issue in this case. And I think we should focus more on the facts and the prosecution of the case,’ Wade responded, pressing to change the subject.
The appeals court could hear arguments in October on former President Trump’s efforts to remove Willis from the election interference case she brought against him.
What is known is that Willis hired Wade to lead the investigation on November 1, 2021, just one day before filing for divorce.
Wade has testified that the relationship between the two began “around March” 2022.
Willis, for his part, told Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee that it began ‘between February and April’ of that year.
But neither Willis nor Wade have given a precise date for when their date began.
The couple has also given different answers about the time periods in which their romance ended.
Wade has said things ended in June or July 2023. Willis has an August 2023 end date for the relationship.
Last week, the appeals court froze Trump’s criminal proceedings while it considers his appeal to remove Willis from the case.
“The Georgia Court of Appeals has properly stayed all proceedings against President Trump in the trial court pending its decision on our interlocutory appeal holding that the case should be dismissed and Fulton County Prosecutor Willis “She should be disqualified for her misconduct,” Steve Sadow, Trump’s leader. Georgia’s defense attorney said in a statement.
Wade was a special prosecutor in Fulton County and helped lead the criminal prosecution of former President Trump in Georgia.
He resigned from his position in March after Judge Scott McAffee, who is overseeing the case in Fulton County Superior Court, ruled that Willis could only remain on the case if Wade resigned.
