An angry father reportedly drove his car into a group of screaming children after his daughter was soaked in a water fight.

The father was believed to have been furious after schoolchildren ‘drenched his daughter’ during a water fight in a west London park as London saw record temperatures.

Footage posted online showed a man wrestling with children in school uniforms as they sprayed water guns at Barra Hall Park in Hayes on Friday afternoon.

A silver car was then filmed going up the curb outside the park and hitting a large group of children, who screamed as he approached.

Dozens of children were scattered as the car plowed through the crowd.

A girl who witnessed the alleged attack said, “This man was trying to kill people.”

Enraged children chased the car after it returned to the road.

Police have confirmed that a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving.

He remains in police custody.

A 14-year-old allegedly assaulted the driver and a 15-year-old claimed the car had collided with their leg. Neither needed medical treatment.

It came as Britons basked in Friday’s third day in a row on the hottest day of the year, with the mercury hitting 32C (90F) as sunbathers packed the parks ahead of the Atlantic storm warnings over the weekend.

Temperatures reached 32.4C (90.3F) at Heathrow Airport at 2pm, two hours after a reading of 30.3C (86.5F) at the same location gave Britain its warmest day of the year so far.
