A pitch invader was left embarrassed after a security guard had to pull up his pants for him in front of laughing fans during Saturday night’s NRL match between the Dolphins and Cowboys.

The man was being escorted from the playing surface at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane when his shorts began to fall off as security personnel led him out.

Eventually the intruder was left with his underwear fully exposed as his pants slipped down to his ankles, with the crowd bursting into laughter as one of the guards saved his dignity by pulling the garment up around his waist .

The crowd had a blast when the invader’s shorts fell off as security knocked him off the ground – before one of the guards pulled his pants up for him.

The employee who pulled up the shorts even received a pat on the back from one of his colleagues for saving the young man from further embarrassment.

Footage of the incident caused a stir on social media, with one viewer joking “Phins up, dacks down” after watching the video.

In an unusual twist, it emerged the pitch invader had not been reported to the police, as is almost always the case as the NRL and ground staff continue their crackdown on fans entering the pitch. playground.

“No one has reported an incident to us at Suncorp Stadium so I assume the ground itself is handling it,” a Queensland Police spokesman told Daily Mail Australia.

“Maybe having the pants fall in front of thousands of people was punishment enough.”

In April, Dragons skipper Ben Hunt and his Sydney Roosters counterpart James Tedesco admitted they feared for the safety of players after a fan invaded the pitch during their annual Anzac Day match.

The 19-year-old ran to midfield and managed to hug Dragons star Zac Lomax before being sent off by the guards.

He was arrested and charged with common assault and entering a sports ground, with the incident prompting the NRL to step up security.

“Who knows what the invader might have on them…it’s kind of scary,” Tedesco said.

In July, a man who ran onto the pitch during Newcastle’s win over the Wests Tigers charged a security guard in an attempt to apprehend him, dropping him to the ground before appearing to evade staff and walk out of the stadium .

Saturday night’s incident didn’t delay the game for long as North Queensland cruised to a 34-10 victory with full-back Scott Drinkwater at his best.

The win kept the team’s slim playoff hopes alive.

The Cowboys travel to Penrith next Saturday, where they need to win to qualify for the semi-finals.

“I was really happy with how we handled the pressure all week,” Cowboys coach Todd Payten said.

“If we play the final we will deserve it because we have to play Penrith next week and we will have to find another kit.”
