A Florida state representative appeared to be humorously ridiculed during a committee hearing when pranksters slipped obscene fake names onto his list.
Republican official Will Robinson fell victim to the stunt at a Florida House Committee on Civil Justice hearing on Monday, which was debating a bill introduced by state GOP Rep. Tiffany Esposito on residential leases.
Robinson, who chairs the committee, moved the hearing to public testimony and began reading out the names of those who had spoken for or against Esposito’s bill.
After several minutes of regular service, Robinson inadvertently said, “Anita D***,” before quickly looking around the room in stunned silence.
The mortified Republican official then moved on to the next name, while a female colleague covered her mouth to hide her laughter. ‘Hoden Hisc***’, she continued, quickly realizing the antics that had crept in in the process.

While the next name on the list was thankfully not a hint, it still took the politician by surprise.
‘Jimmy? Just Jimmy? he said, wondering if he’d been caught in the ruse for the third time.
The Republican seemed relieved when he saw the man in question get to his feet, after Robinson went on to say that the individual “wants to speak and is a proponent.”
Images of the antics quickly spread via social media, with many expressing sympathy for the unwitting representative.
“This guy didn’t deserve this masterclass in trolling, but sometimes we just have to sit back and have a good laugh,” said journalist Brendon Leslie.
Another said: “It’s going to take a minute to get over this.”
Despite appearing humiliated after accidentally reading the fake names, Robinson saw the funny side when he took to Twitter to laugh at the antics.
‘The committee meets again next week! Anita and Holden, please stop by!’ she said.
Robinson has represented Florida House District 71 since 2018, winning re-election in both 2020 and 2022.
The former real estate attorney has served on numerous subcommittees during his time in the legislature.
The Republican official seemed mortified after being tricked into reading several obscene names, but then saw the funny side and joked about the interaction on Twitter.
