Other police vehicles surrounded the 7-Eleven while the incident occurred.

Security footage appeared to show one of the other police cars turning on its lights and beginning to chase the vehicle as it attempted to speed away.

The incident took place at 3 a.m. on Thursday, February 8 at the 7-Eleven location at 11575 Berry Road, near the intersection with US 301 in Waldorf, Maryland.

Spokesperson Diane Richardson of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office says WUSA9 Their officers had been alerted to a 7-Eleven robbery that occurred hours earlier in Prince George’s County, so police were monitoring local 7-Eleven stores.

“Our officers respond to and encounter dangerous situations every day, some with warning and some without,” Richardson said.

‘It is evident that in this case the officers did not know that a robbery was taking place. As soon as they realized what was happening, they took action and chased after the suspects.

Richardson revealed that employees inside the 7-Eleven had been forced into the back of the store at gunpoint.

According to Richardson, federal and local authorities are still trying to identify the suspects.

Police officers stopped pursuing the alleged robbers when the suspect reached high speed and crossed into another county.
