This is the shocking moment a gang of thieves jumped the counter of an Asda petrol station stealing alcohol and cigarettes leaving shoppers stunned.
The group filled bags with alcohol and cigarettes and left while supermarket workers and The guards stood and watched the gang steal the merchandise.
In the video shared online, one of the employees is seen making a phone call to report the theft to the police.
One stunned shopper said: ‘They’re doing what they have to do.
“I just came to get gas.”
Then he added: ‘Why don’t they stop them?
‘Damn, hell.’
The raid took place on the Asda Express at the Texaco garage on Wandsworth Road, Battersea, south London.
The criminals filled bags with alcohol and cigarettes before leaving while supermarket workers and guards watched the gang steal the products.
In the video shared online, one of the robbers, pictured, is seen running the store with a bag.
Another thief is seen taking several bottles during the raid on the Asda Express at the Texaco garage on Wandsworth Road, Battersea, south London.
The video was taken on December 23 and shared and gained a lot of attention online.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At around 8pm on Monday, December 23, officers responded to a suspected robbery at a shop in Wandsworth Road, Nine Elms.
‘The incident is now under investigation. Anyone with information should call 101, quoting reference 6407/23DEC.’
This follows a spate of shoplifting last year amid the cost of living crisis.
One local, called Nicole, joked: “At least the Mayor of London got a knighthood.”
Dan said: “By the end of 2025, all stores will basically be click and collect only.”
Another added: “London is now lawless.”
Steve Thomas said: “I would like to have the right to carry a firearm in the UK.”

It comes as business robberies hit a record high last year with 33 each day, according to new figures.
Data from the Office for National Statistics showed commercial property burglaries rose by 52% in the year to June 2024, rising from 7,884 to 12,000, the highest level ever recorded.
Research by Usaw, the retail workers union, also revealed that one in five retail employees had been the victim of a violent assault in the past year.
And although attacks on retail workers will also increase by eight percent from 2022, not even one in ten robberies ends with an attacker.
