A disturbing video captured the moment a wild-eyed woman brutally attacked a New York City Uber driver with pepper spray allegedly “because of the color of his skin.”
The alarming video, which has gone viral on social media, shows Jennifer Guilbeault, 23, deploying pepper spray in an unprovoked attack on the driver, Shohel Mahmud, 45, during a late-night drive in Midtown Manhattan.
The attack happened around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday night near Lexington Avenue and East 66th Street.
The harrowing video shows Guilbeault approaching the driver’s seat and deploying pepper spray on Mahmud.

Mahmud was desperately trying to escape the attack, even jumping out of the moving vehicle at one point thinking it was a robbery.
But as the vehicle continued to move forward, he climbed back in as the relentless attack continued.
Her friend is then heard yelling: “Jen, Jen, Jen! Why did you do that?”
Mahmud, a father of three from Queens, had picked up Guilbeault and a friend in Midtown for what should have been a routine trip.
Mahmud revealed what he remembered of the terrifying incident and the alleged motive behind the unprovoked attack.
“Her friend yells at her: ‘Jen, Jen, what the fuck are you doing? What’s going on?'” Mahmud told her. The New York Post. “Her friend asks her, ‘Why did you do that?’ And she answers, ‘He’s dark.'”
“They’re talking to each other,” he told The Post. “I’m not talking to them, my job is to lead them. I start driving down Central Park Traverse, straight to 65th Street and Lexington. All of a sudden, this girl, for no reason, pepper sprays me.”
Mahmud, a father of three from Queens, had picked up Guilbeault and a friend in Midtown for what should have been a routine trip.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and arrested Guilbeault on charges of third-degree assault. But she was later released with a summons to appear in court, and her court date is unknown.
“This is totally ridiculous,” he said. “I do nothing and she pepper sprays me. Pepper spray is illegal. She assaulted a driver for no reason. This is a hate crime.”
Police quickly arrived at the scene and arrested Guilbeault on charges of third-degree assault.
But she was later released after appearing in court and her court date is unknown.
Authorities are not currently investigating the incident as a hate crime, despite Mahmud’s claims of racial motivation.
