This is the moment a grandmother was tackled to the ground by her over-exuberant puppy.

In the footage, taken on a Ring doorbell, Debra Martin can be seen taking the rubbish out when her Golden Retriever Teddy hurls himself at the 54-year-old and tackles her to the ground.

The grandmother from Kelty in Scotland had paused a game of catch involving her one-year-old pooch and her eight-year-old granddaughter Zoey.

Chaos ensued after Teddy, who weighs between 60lb and 70lb, launched himself at his owner as he walked back across the garden.

Ms Martin fell flat on her face and lost a slipper in the process. The commotion even scared her pet cat Milo, who can be seen jumping onto the shed’s roof to escape the commotion.

Ms Martin was unharmed and in ‘hysterics’ when she watched the footage back.

She said: ‘Because I went down so hard, everyone thought I must have hurt myself, but other than hurting my pride, I was absolutely fine.

‘I’d actually forgotten about the incident, but suddenly remembered at a house party a few days later.

‘I asked my son-in-law how far back I can go to find the footage and he said I should be able to retrieve all my videos.

‘I went back through the footage for a few days and found it. Of course, everyone was in hysterics.

‘Teddy’s only interest was finding the ball, not for me. Nothing. Zero. He likes his treats, but he’s just obsessed with tennis balls.

‘There’s nothing in the world he loves more than that ball.’

Teddy may only be a puppy, but the average weight of a one-year-old Golden Retriever of 60lb to 70lb is more than enough to make an impact when traveling at high speed.

Ms Martoin added: ‘He’s a big dog so he just forgets his own size sometimes.

‘But I love everything about him, even when he’s knocking me off my feet.’
