Moment a car STOPS in front of an ambulance on its way to an emergency with sirens blaring
Annoying moment when a car STOPS dead in front of an ambulance on its way to an emergency with sirens blaring
- A car stopped a rushing rescue vehicle, slowing and stopping on the road
- The ambulance had to change lanes and go around the car
- It is unclear why the car stopped in the far right lane and delayed the ambulance
An unwitting driver failed to rush to an ambulance, instead slowing down in the rightmost lane and coming to a complete stop.
Frustrating dashcam footage shows the ambulance with its lights blaring and siren making its way past traffic on a major three-lane road before coming to a complete stop behind the offending car.
The ambulance was then forced to pull into the center lane where traffic had also stopped to let it in.

Stage fright: Some people sympathized with the driver who stopped in front of the ambulance, others wondered if they deserved a permit
In the video, featured on Dash Cam Owners Australiaa passenger in the car with the camera joked that the driver of the car was “high” and mistakenly believed they were being arrested.
Others mocked the driver’s ignorance of what to do if he was in the path of an emergency vehicle.
When the car came to a stop, others on the road also stopped for the ambulance to change lanes and proceed to emergency services.

Rabbit in the headlights: The car didn’t come over to let the ambulance pass, but stopped in traffic and forced the emergency vehicle to change lanes
Online response saw the motorist blasted for the ‘outrageous’ mistake.
‘I know in some countries’ [people] stop and the emergency services move around them. But this person needs a re-education about our rules,” one wrote under the post.
“I know that many older drivers hate lane changes, lack of confidence or back problems that make it painful to turn for blind spot checks. None of this is an excuse, if you can’t drive proficiently don’t drive,” commented another.
One ruthless commentator went one step further and said, “I hope the ambulance is on its way to their house, so maybe they’ll understand.”
One asked why the ambulance didn’t change lanes earlier, another had a pretty convincing answer.
‘It’s unsafe. If they changed lanes and that driver decided to do the right thing and do it at the same time, you’d be in a collision,” they wrote.
‘Just move, it’s not rocket science.’
