Mom-to-be outraged after Baker made bizarre tropical cake for her ‘woodland creatures’-themed baby shower
- Mom ordered a woodland-themed cake for the baby shower
- Received a blue cake with ‘nothing on it’
A mother was left scratching her head after receiving a very plain cake from a baker that was nothing like what she had ordered.
The woman ordered a ‘woodland creatures’-themed cake decorated with woodland animal leaves, acorns and flowers, for her baby shower.
However, she was dismayed to discover that she was given a turquoise blue cake with hardly any decorations, two ‘tropical’ palm fronds and a misplaced ‘Welcome Baby’ message in the middle.
The frustrated mum said the baker had sent her photos of other ‘perfect’ cottagecore cakes to gauge which style she wanted, so she was confused as to how they got it so wrong.
Hundreds online were shocked by the cake’s ‘epic’ ‘failure’ and encouraged the customer to ask the baker for his money back.
A mum was furious after ordering a ‘creature of the woods’ themed cake for her baby shower, but received one with ‘basically nothing’ on it
“The baby shower was themed woodland/cottagecore creatures with shades of green as the main colors and gold as the accent color,” the mom explained in a Facebook post. mail to the group What I asked for VS What I got.
She shared a picture of the type of cake she wanted, which was white and brown and garnished with a sweet fondant fox and hedgehog, as well as flower branches and acorns.
“Other photos of cakes that the baker sent ME to confirm the type of cake were filled with lots of animals and mushrooms and trees and flowers.”
‘I said anything along those lines would be perfect. What I got was a bluish cake with basically nothing on it.
Some thought the cake mix-up was hysterical, while others criticized the maker for its ‘lazy’ job.
The mother said the baker had sent her photos of other ‘perfect’ cottagecore style cakes (pictured) to assess which style she wanted, so she was confused as to how they got it so wrong.
‘Are you kidding me? That’s a jungle theme, not a forest at all, I would have been very upset and refused to pay for something I didn’t ask for,’ one member said.
“The only thing these have in common is that they’re both cakes,” a second quipped.
‘Imagine having the unwarranted confidence to do this, give it to your customer, and wait for payment. Wild,” added a third.
Could make a better cake. And I don’t know how to make cakes,” someone chimed in.
‘I’m so sorry I laughed out loud at this! Could they have screwed up more? asked another.
One woman assumed that the baker ‘forgot’ the woman’s order and hastily ‘put it together’.
‘The sheets are just outlines and they look terrible and the font is terrible. I am so sorry this happened to you, you should get your money back and that cake decorator should be fired,” she said.
“It’s like they forgot to make your cake and when you came to pick it up they had an ‘Oh crap’ moment and just pulled a random turquoise cake out of the fridge and scribbled some leaves on it real quick,” another agreed. .
