  • I used old bricks and a $12 Kmart tray

One mom shared how she made an amazing designer-like side table using some old bricks, plaster, and a $12 Kmart purchase.

Brooke Puletua, from Sydney, used a round terrazzo tray from Kmart as her chic, homemade table top.

She said she bought all the materials she already had, some of which were already in the house from Bunnings, along with bricks and a Kmart tray.

“For the majority of my products, I try to make sure I use what I have to save money and be the most cost-effective,” Brock told FEMAIL.

The DIY’er stacked five bricks flat on top of each other and secured them together using Liquid Nail’s Fast Grab Adhesive.

Brooke used cement-based tile adhesive from Davco to hold the bricks together and then added grout by Gyprock Australia for the final finish.

She said it made “the biggest mess” making the brown brick white but admitted it was “worth it” in the end.

I placed an upside-down Kmart tray on top of the brick frame and painted it white to create a chic table top.

I am a fan of the exterior paint because its durability is amazing. I used white low-gloss exterior paint (my go-to) and sealed it with Rust-Oleum Clear Spray Paint.

Brooke designed the table with a large cement oyster shell from Pillow Talk Australia that costs between $11-$14 and a candle inside.

The home fashion designer wowed thousands with her simple DIY table after she shared a step-by-step guide on Instagram video.

“Oh my God! This is so cool who would have thought?” wrote one viewer.
