A cheeky toddler was left with a Tiger King-style blonde mullet after she stole the household scissors to try and give herself a ‘princess’ haircut.

Laura-Michelle Lewis, 31, from Bideford, Devon, was shocked to discover that her two-year-old daughter Mylee Howard had had herself cut.

The toddler cut four inches of her hair on either side of her head after climbing onto a stool with her walker and grabbing the household scissors.

The mother said she was ‘half laughing and half crying’ after researching her daughter’s makeover and comparing her daughter’s new blonde mullet to that of infamous Netflix star Joe Exotic.

“She’d put it on her walker within 30 seconds of leaving the kitchen,” said Laura-Michelle.

‘I just heard a loud snapping sound and I had a jar of water in my hand and just dropped it.

‘I went’ Oh my god ‘, and when I got there, I just saw her on the floor.

She hid under the breakfast table, sitting with the scissors in her hands. It was well thought out.

“I half cried, half laughed and said right away,” She looks like Tiger King, the lockdown got to her head! “

“She has a strong Devonshire accent and she just said, ‘Mommy, I cut my hair,’ and when I asked why, she said she wanted to be like a beautiful princess. How can you be mad about that?

She cut right from the temple to the back of the ear, she took some off the fridge too, but I can brush it underneath and hide it for now, but I can’t hide the mullet.

‘She’s struggling to grow her hair so I never cut it and that’s why it really upset me, but then I saw the funny side of it. She had always been a bald baby.

‘The hairdressing kit was quite high on the breakfast bar because I do a little bit of hairdressing for the men in my life and I wanted to re-oil the scissors before putting it away.

Laura-Michelle says she would like to take Mylee to the hairdresser to get a bob and avoid returning to daycare with a mullet.

‘We’re going to try and find out at the hairdresser’s, but I don’t know what they’re going to do because there just isn’t any hair on the side.

‘Because she has to go back to daycare, we had all kinds of suggestions about what to do. Someone said we should shave her head on one side, but she’ll look like something from Hell’s Angels.

‘I think we should go for a layered bob and just hide it.

“ I’ve definitely learned my lesson in cutting it before she does it herself, and we’ll have the scissors locked up in the garage – even though they were in their suitcase at the bar at the time.

“It’s nice to share what happened though, because it could make a few people laugh at our expense.”

Laura-Michelle shared a snapshot of Mylee’s head on Facebook, getting over 200 responses and 140 responses within an hour.

Her post said I am now over the initial shock. Let’s take a look at those lockdown haircuts attempted and don’t. This is my nearly three-year-old boy’s attempt to do none other than the Tiger King’s or not, you decide! ‘
