A mother has revealed how disgusted she was after being served a crumbled and fried kitchen towel instead of a chicken schnitzel
“This is really disturbing. How the hell do you get the towel in the batter and even bake it?’ she asked.
The incident took place at a restaurant in the Philippines, with the business closed for three days in direct response to the accident.
The mother revealed that she had previously read reports about weird things being served to customers but thought they were made up.
‘Now I know it’s really happening! So disgusting and shameful,” she said.
The family was off their entire order, knowing it was probably all fried with the same oil.
The mother’s post quickly went viral, with 87,000 people sharing it since June 2.
Some people took the opportunity to mock the situation.
“I ordered chicken for my son, while trying to give him a bite, I found it super hard to even cut. I tried to open it with my hands and to my surprise a fried towel,” she wrote in an angry post on Facebook.
“If you just want to eat but are asked to take a bath first,” one wrote.
“I just decided I don’t like fried chicken anymore,” said another.
“Towel fried looks good,” laughed another.
The woman bought a family box and the towel schnitzel, but decided not to eat any of the food.
