A Texas mother has been accused of leaving her two young children home alone for six days while partying on a cruise in Puerto Rico.

Lakesha Woods Williams, 29, was arrested after police responded to a welfare check at her apartment in a luxury Houston high-rise on Tuesday.

Authorities say they found Williams’ 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter in the home unsupervised, nearly a week after Williams flew to Miami on April 4.

The house smelled of urine and there was garbage and food scattered everywhere. The children told police that her mother had gone on a trip and that they did not know when she would return.

He is charged with two counts of abandoning a child with intent to return; His bail was set at $40,000.

They added that Williams used a webcam and cell phone to monitor them, according to the police report.

Court records say police attempted to contact Williams but she did not cooperate and continued to change her whereabouts.

Williams returned from the trip on April 10 and was arrested the next day.

Neighbors told police they saw Williams leaving with luggage on April 4, and it’s not the first time something like this has happened, he said. Khou.

The McKinley high-rise, where Williams and her children live, is advertised as a luxury apartment complex in Houston’s Memorial City district.

The children were determined to be healthy and were given to their aunt.

“We are still piecing together the facts and circumstances of how these children were left alone for several days,” said Ted Heap of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

“But the important thing is that they are now safe and those responsible must be held accountable for leaving these children in an unsafe situation.”
