Mohamed Salah has ‘received interest’ from two of Liverpool’s biggest European rivals as the saga over his contract at Anfield, which expires next summer, gathers pace.
The Reds legend dropped a bombshell after the team’s 3-0 away win against bitter rivals Manchester United on September 1, admitting it could be his last season at the club.
Salah has been at Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017 and in that time has won the Premier League, Champions League and a host of other trophies, as well as making 352 appearances and scoring 214 goals.
His contract expires at the end of June 2025 and the Egyptian’s recent comments have sparked a wave of speculation over his future, with many expecting the striker to move to Saudi Arabia.

Either way, pursuing the Egyptian seems a no-brainer for any top European side, with an electric dribbler and clinical finisher potentially available on a free transfer.
However, they will have to fight Salah’s desire to stay at the Anfield club, with the striker said to be “desperate” to sign a new contract, according to the Liverpool Echo.
This follows a surge in interest from Saudi Arabian sides, including Al-Ittihad, over the past year, with such clubs likely to outdo their European counterparts when it comes to a lucrative salary.

“Nobody from the club has spoken to me about contracts yet. It’s not my business, it’s the club’s business, but we’ll see.”
“As you know, it’s my last year at the club. I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to think about it (the contract). I feel free to play football and we’ll see what happens next year.”
