Egypt has called Mohamed Salah for a tournament this month despite Liverpool’s request to rest the striker.
The 31-year-old forward missed Saturday’s 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest due to a hamstring injury.
He was injured while playing for Egypt at the African Cup of Nations in January, but the striker returned to action from the bench in the 4-1 win over Brentford last month.
However, he suffered a return of the injury in that match and has missed Liverpool’s last four games.
On Friday, Klopp confirmed that Salah will be able to resume training next week, which would allow him to compete against City next Sunday.

“I don’t think Mo is too far away, but he won’t turn up (at Forest),” Klopp said. ‘From there, we have to leave. Touch and go, unfortunately that remains the case with Mo for a little while longer.
‘But I think next week, any time, is possible. So it’s definitely on the way back, but it’s not there yet.’
And with the Reds still hunting for a quadruple, they asked the Egyptian Federation to rest him during the upcoming international break.
“We have already received a letter from Liverpool to exempt Mohamed Salah from the next camp due to his injury,” reads a statement from the Egyptian Federation.
‘We sent Mohamed Salah’s name among the professional players we requested to include in the next camp a few days ago.
“It is our right to include any professional player as long as he is on the international agenda at the time, and the question of whether to include him or not is in the hands of the national team’s coaching staff, headed by Hossam Hassan.
‘It is still too early to decide the matter, and if Mohamed Salah plays any matches before the start of the camp, we will accept his inclusion, he will be examined and his readiness status will be determined by the medical staff of the Egyptian National Team.’
He suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Egypt at the African Cup of Nations in January.
And Egyptian coach Hossam Hassan on Saturday named Salah among seven foreign players in his squad for the upcoming training camp in March. according to ahramonline
The Pharaohs are preparing to participate in a friendly tournament in the United Arab Emirates between March 22 and 26.
