Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp were involved in a heated argument on the bench as the Liverpool star prepared to face West Ham.
The Egyptian had already appeared upset during pre-match warm-ups at the London Stadium on Saturday and his temper boiled over as Klopp prepared to make a triple substitution.
Liverpool trailed in the second half after Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring for the Hammers, before quick goals early in the second half tied the score at 2-2 before Salah’s introduction in the 79th minute.
Klopp turned to Salah in the hope of getting the Reds back into the game but ultimately had to settle for a draw in the capital that all but eliminates them from the title race.
Salah, usually a happy and encouraging team-mate, was clearly frustrated with the Liverpool boss and got into a public row with Klopp that left fans furious.
Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp were involved in a heated argument on the bench as the Liverpool star prepared to face West Ham.
Klopp initially approached his player and said something to Salah that quickly sparked a strange reaction from the prolific goalscorer who leads Liverpool’s scoring charts with 24 goals in all competitions this season.
Salah responded to his coach by continually waving his arms, pointing at the pitch and then pointing to a retreating Klopp who had resumed monitoring the action on the pitch.
However, Salah continued to berate the outgoing Liverpool manager and only stopped his display of discontent when striker Darwin Nunez intervened.
Nunez was also relegated to the bench after the midweek defeat in the Merseyside derby and put Salah’s arms down before attempting to push him away in an attempt to calm the situation.
Salah reluctantly walked away while Klopp, clearly knowing that all eyes were on the commotion, refused to acknowledge or intervene in the situation.
