Moderna’s stock jumps after announcing the COVID-19 injection is about to be approved for teens in Europe
Shares of Moderna Inc. mRNA,
gained 4.7% in trade on Friday after the company said European regulators recommended it approve its COVID-19 vaccine for teens as young as 12 years old. The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use of the European Medicines Agency has issued the recommendation; the next step is the final decision of the European Commission. Moderna’s shot is not yet approved for teens in the US. Shares of the company are up 223.2% so far this year, while the S&P 500 SPX,
increases by 16.3%.
