Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet revealed he’s been residing in Kansas City, where he enjoys having “real, authentic moments” with the locals rather than the Hollywood crowd.

The 53-year-old actor said that living outside of Hollywood has made him clear about the good and bad parts of it, he explained on the most recent episode of In depth with Graham Bensinger.

Eric said, “I realized that what it does is highlight all the good things about our business, the entertainment business.”

“And it highlights all the stupidity of our business. It amplifies it,” he continued.

And he added: ‘Because I’m here, I deal with people from here, and I go to the store and I have all these authentic, real moments, and then I go to Hollywood and I remember some of the types of people I deal with.’

Eric was born in Kansas City and raised there, even attending Kansas State University and moving to Los Angeles to begin his acting career.

Would you like some lychee and kiwi, sir?” It’s like, oh yeah, this is the cool thing about Hollywood… so it’s a lot of fun. It just amplifies it. It’s like leaving (Kansas City) and coming back and doing something is almost more fun than living there, doing it.”

His candid take on Hollywood comes just months after podcaster Taylor Strecker called Eric the “worst guest” she’s ever had on her show Taste of Taylor, via Page six.

She revealed her thoughts on the June 25 Amazon Live where she appeared with Paige DeSorbo.

“He’s from Modern Family and he’s this chubby, cheerful, sweet, funny guy. Could he be anything else? How disgusting!” Taylor said.

She said she thought she would talk about Modern Family, but she had partnered with Pepto-Bismol and wanted to talk about her new partnership.

In the middle of the conversation, Eric says to her, “So when are we going to talk about Pepto-Bismol?”

“I said, ‘I have hemorrhoids. I’m the queen of diarrhea. I love Pepto-Bismol! We can talk about anything.’ And he said, and I quote, ‘Someone didn’t do their homework,'” she said.

She then joked with him: “Are you going to come to my house and call my mom and dad? I don’t think so.”

Taylor said she yelled at Eric and then apologized: “I said, ‘I’m sorry. Do I get paid in Pepto-Bismol? The answer is no. So it’s your job to figure that out, not mine.'”
