“This is our love letter to Byron Bay,” it reads.

‘It’s not just Chris [Hemsworth] and Zac [Efron]the backyard; it’s the playground of more influencers standing next to celebrities than you can stick a selfie stick in.”

There will also be ‘fights, flings and heartbreak’ on offer.

It comes after a handful of so-called Byron locals recently paddled into the ocean to protest the show, while others allowed with signs saying “give Netflix the movie” and “consult traditional owners.”

Ben Gordon, owner of The Byron Bay General Store, led calls for the production to be condemned — and is asking other local businesses to do the same.

“They just showed up unannounced and they’re proposing to drag our name through the mud and make millions of dollars without giving back to the community,” he told Today hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon.
