Mobile Photography Awards: Fascinating Images Captured by Winners Including Elephant Bath Time

It is one thing for a photographer to show off his talent using the best cameras on the market. However, the latest Mobile Photography Awards have once again shown just how versatile photographers can be in capturing amazing images using just their smartphones.

Judges for the prestigious annual competition, which is in its 12th year, said the most recent captivating images submitted, ranging from black and white, landscapes, street photography and more, were among the best they had ever seen. .

Simply stunning and vivid photographs showed an elephant bath time, a driver passing a raging house fire and a stunning waterfall. The MPA received photos from more than 80 countries this year, highlighting the global reach of mobile photography today.

The Toronto-based awards, founded in 2011, are held every year to celebrate the art and craft of mobile photography. This year, Australian Glenn Homann beat out a record number of entrants with his portfolio described as “impressive” and “impressive” by the MPA judges. He takes home a cash prize of $3,000.

However, the talent did not stop there. The awards were divided into 12 categories, with Shulong Ma winning in the black and white category for a photograph of an elephant being bathed, which was taken with an iPhone 7.

Meanwhile, Fabio Sartori took a close-up of a bug on his Samsung that won the Macro category, and a stunning photograph of miners from the Ijen volcano in East Java, Indonesia, took first place in the Travel/Transportation section. Scroll to see all the winners.
