Brewers shortstop Willy Adames left Friday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants after being hit by a foul ball from teammate Brian Anderson while watching from the dugout.
Anderson was at bat late in the second inning when he hit a line drive that hit Adames.
The game was stopped for a few minutes to allow Milwaukee’s coaching staff to monitor Adames as he sat on the bench. Anderson looked concerned as he waited near the batter’s box.
Adames finally got out of the dugout and headed for the clubhouse. The Brewers said he was taken for a CT scan and left the stadium to undergo further testing and evaluation.
Brice Turang replaced Adames at shortstop in the top of the third.
